Corporate Philanthropy

Established in 2010, the Dispose My Meds program is administered by the National Community Pharmacists Association Foundation, a 501c3 charitable organization. Pharmacies participating in this popular public service program are members of the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA). To date, over 1,400 NCPA members have disposal sites in their stores.

Sponsoring Dispose My Meds is an excellent way for corporations and foundations to visibly demonstrate their support of a public service program that promotes safe, responsible, and eco-friendly methods for medication disposal. Key program activities may include:

  • Ad (full page, color) in NCPA’s monthly magazine, America’s Pharmacist.
  • Drug take–back campaigns at community pharmacies
  • Collaborations with local businesses (e.g., nursing homes, colleges)
  • In-store marketing items such as posters, counter cards, window signs, bag stuffers
  • Webinars
  • DisposeMyMeds.org—a comprehensive online resource for the public, patients, and health care providers, featuring a store locator
  • Public service announcements
  • Medication disposal supplies (Sharps TakeAway™ Environmental Return System)
